VBS 2009: Fired Up For Faith
RING! RING! The phone screamed frantically for the fifth time in five minutes. Gush the Hydrant darted to answer it, tripping over Noz the Fire Hose who was talking on the other line. “Fire Safety. This is Gush. What is your emergency?” Noz shook his head and hung up his phone, then peeked over Gush’s shoulder to see what he was scribbling on the incident alert sheet. “Throwing people in a furnace?” Noz almost shouted when Gush finished taking information and hung up the phone. “That’s the worst call yet!” “What’d I miss?” Gush asked. Noz picked up his alert sheet. “Three hundred open torches in a forest, building bonfires during a three year drought, bushes that burn but don’t go out, flames appearing on people’s heads, and now tossing people in a furnace! What are people thinking? Don’t they know anything about fire safety?” “I think this is a job for the Fire Safety Squad,” Gush exclaimed as he jumped to his feet. “To the truck!” Noz shouted while moving through the station. “It’s time to get FIRED UP!”
We will have classes for kids through Fifth grade, while the middle and high school kids have devotionals and help out with the younger kids.
